Puroscope

Background:Medical hygiene is essential especially when switch from patient to patient. Stethoscope as a noncritical object, contact with only intact patient skin, so it requires disinfection to prevent bacteria/virus from cross infection.

How might we innovate the stethoscope sanitizing experience at healthcare centers?

A simple and quick way

to clean the stethoscope in hospitals.

We want to help healthcarer to disinfect stethoscopes since they hardly realize and have time.

A study shows the stethoscpope used by physicians were more contaminated (80.8%) than those used by other health workers(73.5%).

Research

The research framework is the visual representation of the research insights.

The inner circle stands for high frequency in the user interviews, the outer circle stands for low frequency in the user interviews

Opportunity

Doctors would rather maximize time with patients and minimize time performing other tasks like sanitizing equipment due to busy schedules and vague policies

With Covid-19, strict sanitizing regulation will take place to prevent unexpected infections, however sanitizing instruments is still time consuming

Therefore, doctors need an efficient way to sanitize their stethoscopes; one that is easy to use, saves time and stops cross contamination
